How to clean up the dog's wound

Dogs are usually very active, so dogs are often easily injured. If your dog's wound is not very serious, then you can clean up and treat his wound at home. If the dog’s wound is not cleaned and treated in time, the dog’s wound will be infected and painful. The following article will introduce you how to clean up your dog's wounds.

  1. If your dog's wound is in a hairy area, the first thing you need to do is to cut off all the hair around the dog's wound. You can use scissors or disposable razors to cut the hair.

  1. Use normal saline or warm water to clean the wound area and dry it with a clean paper towel. Then choose some non-irritating disinfectant for disinfection.

3. Finally, we apply antibacterial ointment on the wound and use a thin bandage. You need to be careful not to stretch the bandage too tightly, otherwise it will easily cause necrosis of the wound tissue. Bandages can also prevent dogs from licking the wound.

4. Clean the wound with disinfectant every day and apply antibiotics until the wound heals.

5. If the dog’s wound is on the foot, after you have bandaged the dog, you can put a loose socks on the dog’s foot to prevent the dog from tearing the bandage.

6. If there is a foreign body piercing in the wound, do not pull out the foreign body directly, please take your dog to the veterinarian.
